The Dry Divide
by Ralph Moody
Another tale of people struggling with poverty, but unlike A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, you never doubt that the hero, Bud, is going to make it through. It's the tale of a young man heading out west with only a dime in his pocket. He draws upon his abilities and willingness to take chances to not only make a living, but also to help others along the way. All in all it's a good book, though sometimes Mr. Moody, being a guy and all, gets bogged down in technical details.
