Drive to the East
First read in April of 2008.
This time around I seemed to be more sensitive to the concentration camp scenes. Whether it was due more to Mr. Turtledove's writing or the disgusting nature of the concept, I don't know.
Check it out.

The Thin Man
by Dashiell Hammett
I picked up another classic detective novel. Again I enjoyed the book for reasons other than the mystery--in this case it was the setting and the banter. Man, could this guy write dialogue! Of course, I'm writing this review over a month after I finished the book, so whatever of Mr. Hammett's loquaciousness that I might have picked up has faded.
It's on on my shelf anyway.
